Quire Notes is a notebook for iPad where handwriting and typed text are the same kind of thing: in one document, in one order, neither one a guest in the other's app.

What it does

• Write and type on the same page. Use Apple Pencil or the keyboard, and mix them freely.
• Your notes are ordinary files. Each note is a single HTML file, with the handwriting stored inside as SVG, that opens in any browser. Nothing needs Quire to be readable.
• You choose where they live. Point Quire at a folder on the iPad, in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or Google Drive. Quire does not run its own sync service, so there is no account to make.
• Export what you need. Markdown, HTML, Word, plain text or PDF.
• An optional maths tutor. Tutor answers the maths in front of it. It is not a chatbot and it does not write your notes for you.

What we chose not to build

Quire is meant to stay small. There is no account, no feed and no endless settings page. Your notes are not sent anywhere unless you send them, and nothing is collected in the background. What can leave the device, such as a bug report you send or the tutor's optional lookups, leaves only because you chose to switch it on or press Send.

Your privacy

Quire has no account and collects nothing in the background. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what does leave your iPad, and when.
